On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

How do I run for office?
Take out nomination papers from the Clerk’s Office. Obtain a specific number of signatures, as stated in the charter. Specific number depends upon the office for which you are running. The nomination papers must be returned by a certain deadline for filing and the signatures nut then be certified by the Elections Commission.
