Adult Programs

About Our Programs
Recreation Department offers a few programs for adults but also looking to expand. If you have a program in mind, please contact us at (617) 972-6494.


Yoga for Adults over 55
This class, which centers on relaxation and coordinating breath with movement, promises to be gentle. It can be done sitting in a chair or standing, and will accommodate those who use walkers and canes, have limited flexibility and vision, or have never tried yoga before. Participants should wear only loose-fitting clothing and if they would like to lay on the floor, their own mat or you may borrow one from the studio. Classes are designed for any body and all levels of experience, with a focus on alignment and safety. This class is taught by Ann Knocke: cardiopulmonary physical therapy clinical specialist and certified Kripalu Yoga, Cardiac Yoga and Cancer Yoga teacher.

Wachusett Mountain Ski/Board Passes
Adults and/or families can purchase our group rate lift tickets and rentals for Saturday evenings from January 7th to February 11th.  You must have your own transportation. You can also purchase Gold, Silver or Bronze Season passes at group rates. Wachusett Mountain only accepts online registrations.

Men's Basketball - Open Gym
This is a drop-in men’s basketball program is designed to provide exercise and fun for men 30 and over. This program offers gym time for men to come and enjoy competitive playing in a recreational setting.   
    Who:       Adult Men (30 years and older)
    When:     
Sundays Mornings (9/18/16-5/7/17)
    Time:      8:30-10:30AM
    Where:   Watertown Middle School Gymnasium
    Fee:        $175 Residents and Non-residents

Adult Tennis Lessons
We currently run these lessons for both beginner and intermediate levels at Victory Field Tennis Courts from September to October on Wednesday evenings. The WHS Varsity Tennis Coach, Dan Cedrone will be the instructor. The classes are 90 minutes one evening a week for 8 weeks. This is a great way to get exercise, learn to play tennis, or brush up on your skills and meet new friends.

Boston Ski and Sports Club
The Recreation Department has partnered up with BSSC, residents will receive $25 off the non membership prices. This winter BSSC is offering Basketball, Field Hockey, Floor Hockey, Football, Women's Lacrosse, Kickball and Volleyball. Please see the flyer with all of the details.


Red Sox Tickets
The Recreation Department is offering tickets in the grandstands or bleacher seats for six games during the season at historic Fenway Park.

Summer Men's Basketball League

This program has three divisions with games and playoffs:
The cost is $1,400 per team and $125 per legend player (over 35). The season will start late May with a 15-game schedule and additional playoffs.
This year the initial meeting is April to register your college level team.


Community Sports & Games
Bring a friend or family member to shoot hoops, play a game of volleyball or just get ready for the upcoming baseball/softball season in our batting cages. It is a great option for those cold winter Sundays. Please check attached schedule for times and activities. The cost is $25.00 for the season.
