On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

Former Branch Libraries Reuse Advisory Committee

        Town Manager Michael J. Driscoll is seeking Watertown residents interested in serving on a Former Branch Libraries Reuse Advisory Committee.  The Watertown Board of Library Trustees has determined that the East Branch Library and North Branch Library are no longer needed for Library purposes.  The Committee is being formed to evaluate and recommend reuse alternatives for the former East Branch Library located on Mount Auburn Street and the former North Branch Library located on Orchard Street; and to develop Request for Proposals for disposition of property in accordance with G.L.c. 30B, ยง 16.
