Description:

Set to music, the participants will experience cheering, dance and/or baton twirling. Participants will learn marching, basic twirling skills, cheer motions and dance moves. Focus is on hand-eye coordination, rhythm, and teamwork. Spring session participants will learn a routine for the Memorial Day parade. Instruction is provided by Miss Tracey Gangi Johnson.

The Watertown Recreation and Police Department are collaborating to offer a summer street hockey program. The general objectives of the program are to promote sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun and positive setting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the rules and fundamentals of street hockey such as stick handling and shooting. Registration is on first come first serve basis and all participants must sign up in advance not at the day of the program.

Description:

Younger and older kids will enjoy learning the fundamentals of yoga in a fun and engaging class that is both active and calm. Students will strengthen muscles, build flexibility and challenge themselves with new skills both individually and as a cooperative group. This is an opportunity to explore and learn in a supportive, fun environment and at a brand new facility, Artemis Yoga, in East Watertown.  Everyone can practice yoga – no particular fitness level or experience required and class is tailored by age group.  See you in class!

Music Instrument Lessons Grades: All

Description: Students work with instructors who are also professional musicians in the Greater Boston area, perform regularly on their instruments, and have many years of experience teaching children of all ages. This is a tuition based program and is highly recommended for students participating in school instrumental ensembles. Private lessons allow the instructor to focus on the individual needs of each student enabling the student to progress faster and perform in their school ensembles with a high degree of ability, confidence, and enjoyment. One-on-one instruction can help motivate students who are having some difficulties progressing on their instrument and provide challenge to more advanced student musicians.
Students who currently play an instrument during the school day are strongly encouraged to enroll in private instrumental music lessons either through this program or elsewhere. Parents, working with the instructor, determine the length of lessons that best suits the musical needs of the child. Come join the recreation park instructors for a summer filled of sports, games and activities. There will be a variety of sports offered such as wiffleball, kickball, soccer, baseball and 
badminton, as well as arts and crafts for those who need a break from the hot summer sun during the day. In addition to sports, games and arts and crafts, will also take various trips throughout the summer to Canobie Lake Park, Laser-Craze, Chunky’s Theater and Water Wizz just to name a few.

Launch is offering a safe, reliable and affordable facility for dodge ball program on Tuesday evenings. Teams will consist of six members with the number of teams will be determined by enrollment. Games are played for the first of five weeks and the sixth week we will have playoffs and a championship game. 
Launch requires a waiver to participate.

Description:

This program introduces children to traditional wrestling. It will prioritize basic skills of balance, strength, discipline, and technique while having fun. Dual meets and scrimmages will be scheduled mostly on Wednesdays (up to 5 total). No Tournaments.
