On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

Watertown COA / Senior Center Shopping Bus

The Watertown Senior Shuttle travels a fixed route throughout Watertown to take seniors grocery shopping, and we continually adjust the route to accommodate new riders. There is a suggested donation of $1.00 Round Trip.
The bus travels to the Stop & Shop on Watertown St. on Tuesdays and to the Super Stop and Shop on Pleasant St. on Fridays. The bus also travels to the Watertown Mall on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. Call the Senior Center at 617-972-6490 for more information.

MBTA Reduced Fare Senior Pass
The MBTA issues a pass that entitles seniors (over 65) to a reduced fare on subways, buses, and commuter rails. The pass must be purchased in person at the MBTA Senior and Access Pass Office in Boston

The RIDE provides door-to door transportation to eligible people who cannot use general public transportation because of a physical, cognitive or mental disability.  Lift equipped vans are used to serve persons with disabilities, including those who use wheelchairs and scooters. The RIDE operates 365 days a year from 6AM to 1AM in sixty-two cities and towns.  In order to use the RIDE you must complete and submit an application.  Contact the MBTA Office for Transportation Access to download an application or call 617-222-5123. 

Supplemental Transportation for Watertown Seniors 
This program is designed to provide readily accessible transportation assistance for seniors in need of last minute, medical appointment, or emergency transportation to locations within the community, and is funded through a grant from the Marshall Home Fund. Transportation by local taxi is arranged by calling the Senior Center at 617-972-6490.
