On the Watertown Seal is a picture of an English Colonist and an Indian exchanging, as peace tokens,  bread for fish.  Captain Roger Clap landed at Nantasket Point in 1630 and rode up Charles River to Gerry's Landing with the first party of Watertown Colonists.

Create a Family Communication Plan
Family Communication Plan
Designate one method for all family members to use to check in case of an emergency.  Designate an out of town contact (make sure contact knows and agrees), email method, or call plan.

Other Communication Plans
  • If you live in multi-unit housing, speak with the building manager about the emergency plan.  Note evacutation routes and emergency exits. 
  • For school age children, know the emergency plan of the schools they attend and teh appropriate contact number(s). 
  • Teach small children when and how to call 911.
  • If know of people in your neighborhood who may require additional assistance during a disaster, such as the elderly, disabled, or those with a language barrier, create a plan with your neighbors to be able to accommodate their needs.
